D60 Gamble - LETS PLAY

I'm rather miffed at RITZ right now...having placed the order for a D60 on 4/18.......with expected ship date of 5/16.

Since then:
checked status 4/19.......ship date 5/19
checked status 4/23.......ship date 5/23
checked status 4/26.......ship date 5/26

I'm canceling my order and gambling on placing a new order elsewhere. I'd like recommendations on where to place a new order....

I ordered 4/17 from B&H:
Called 4/25, Told me they shipped an order monday (not mine). They estimate May 9th. Wouldn't give me a specific date, but at least I know they're not leading me on like Ritz was leading you.
Still, at least they're shipping the product.

I'd like to order from ANYONE right now but my only credit card doesn't have enough available credit because Ritz has a hold on it for $2200!! I just got off the phone and Ritz is now calling my CC company to remove the hold....

If I may be so bold to offer a possible solution. Call your credit card company and ask for an increase in your limit. Ask for a little more than you want.

I would if I could.....but they won't. As a big "D" precaution I had closed/cancelled my past cards and I only have this (newer) one. I never really used credit cards that much before. I expect I'll be able to order later this evening.....now there's a D60 for sale on eBay from Germany, but they show pictures of a 1D box......I wonder which one I would get????

I ordered through PC Connection. They are expecting 10 body only (not kits) on 5/15 and I'm #9. Just need to pick up the odds and ends and should be able to by then for less than $200.00

I have an extra "kit" that I would be happy to send to you. My D30 was stolen and I have all the pieces from the original kit except the memory card and battery.

I ordered my D60 on last Monday at 11:00 AM. Got my D60 next day at 02:00 PM at http://www.kaufshop.at in Vienna (Austria). Paid EUR 2500 without VAT.

One of the local camera stores seems to imply they have the d60 kits in stock. you might call and ask. They're not always the cheepest, but they do have a good selection and sales people that have at least a little bit of a clue. since I like my d30, I won't be ordering one, but here's the link if you want to call them.
