Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help me out, i was photographing a band last night and having only got the press pass at the last minute didn't really have time to test out my settings before the band started...

I normally shoot in RAW but by mistake chose RAW+JPEG and didn't notice until I was half way through the memory card. I've checked the memory card and as I understand I should have two versions of the image under the same name...

IMG0001 & IMG0001(1) etc.

Now i have checked both files for each photo on the memory card and it turns out they are both JPG files, am I missing something or shouldn't there be one RAW file for editing the image to TIFF etc and one JPG file for checking/printing straight from camera?

Any help would be much appreciated as I have a deadline of Monday and can't work out how to get the RAW data!

Thanks,

Adam

For starters, what camera, and how did you download the files? Do you still have the files on the card?

No need for a reply, solved the problem myself - yay!

For anyone that has this problem it seems to be a problem when reading straight from the camera - plugged it into my cardreader just incase the camera usb cable was faulty and it shows both CR2 files and JPG.

I've had the same problem plugging directly from the camera to the laptop. now when I'm traveling I'm shooting only RAW to avoid this problem. any thoughts from anyone else as to why this is the case? for me it was going in under DPP or even windows explorer to get the pics from the camera.

There's a quick, free download that lets Windows recognize CR2 files. I don't have the address for it so this isn't much help. I had found it in a similar thread @ Photocamel.com last spring.
