Great stuff! Are you using a remote? The pics are nice and clear... really awesome!
Which 10mm do you have? Must be the Sigma.. you have a 10D eh? No EF-s...
I'm in the market.. so just wondering, the pics look awesome, so I assume you like it. ;)

Yah i have a sigma 10-20. But these were all taken with my 28-70 sigma. I use a peanut slave and my stock flash to trigger my 430ex. It's super ghetto, but it works obviously. I'll get a pocket wizard someday. But for now this seems to work. I love my 10d.....I don't need a big baller camera just yet. Someday down the road. But if i can't make this work, then i don't really need to be doing this photography thing in the first place. It works great!
Thanks for the compliment.

your flash technique is good, pity about the interior of the building... any chance of out door ones?

Very nice shots. I like the fact that you got the rider and the jump itself in the frame. It adds a lot more action to the shot! What was your setting on some of these?

It's a good park. Bill runs a tight ship. How long ago did you skate there?

Well I liked that you didn't shoot at eye level but i'd drop the aperature a bit, and move to diffrent places to take the pictures.

Overall I think the pictures are very good. If I found anything bad about them it would be that the background is the inside of a building... but I guess you'll have to wait for summer like all of us!
Great Job.

Yah the downfall of a peanut slave is that you cannot move to many places. The stock flash has to trigger my flash by the peanut slave sensing it going off. Yes the background sucks, but i don't know what i can do about that. :P

i'd say...i dont know...i can't put my finger on it. you got your comps pretty good (save #5). you got faces...you got take-offs....for some reason they look point and shoot tho. i think if you kicked up your shutter speed and knocked out the ambient you'd probably get a more dramatic lighting situation, but i think because of the on camera flash the pictures look kind of flat to me.
i think, even with the on camera, if you got another optical slave for your other flash and used the 2 externals, then you could sandwich the rider and get a lot more dimension with a rimlight. this would also get the shadows out of the kid in blue's face.
lastly, if you expose your background down one stop and expose the rider up one stop it'll always make them pop.
that's my advice. i dont get to shoot riding a lot, but i got a couple buddys who do and i've learned a lot from them. i guess this is how they get published and all that, im good at crit i can't really do it to save my life tho. nice start man...im feeling the pw's soon too.

Thank you sir. I need to get more flashes thats exactly what i need to do. More lighting will definitely make my pictures come more to life. One flah is pretty lame to deal with, especially in a dull ugly setting such as this.

The lighting on the last two are better, well excpet for the lurker during that tobaggon, as said before work on your composition and try to light some of the ramp as well. Good job though glad to see more BMX'ers!
