FYI that isn't a legitimate review site.

Lord. "It looks bulky." Our Anonymous friend was correct, and I don't believe he was pulling any "double-sarcasm" as the second responder imagined. Worst "review" in history.

Well it is a pretty bulky camera. And it really does lack onboard flash. There's actually nothing wrong with the opinion about the camera. It's true you can get 10MP in a $260USD (approx) camera.
Whether you agree or not is irrelevant.
Having said that, a couple sentences does not constitute a review. Just a statement of opinion. Unless of course there is more than just the paragraphs above and below the photo and I'm not seeing it.

I think some people are taking this WAY too much to heart.
Here's a few lines (of another article) on their homepage regarding a particular new Nikon Coolpix:
Should our next camera be a Nikon Coolpix P5000?
Only it looks quite nice. Can the people who seem to know about cameras please post some comments in the comments section about if this is better than the Canon Powershot A710IS we're currently planning to get in about five weeks. Thanks.
End point: Chill out people.

Kind of my point too. It's not serious, so stop taking it as such. :p

Honestly, if you buy this camera - you're not buying it for the mp size. ;)
For most everyday photogs, 10mp is fine... I would think interested buyers are considering this camera for the DIII chips, new pt AF, anti-dust, 3" LCD, etc... ;)
Having said that, I agree that if the price tag IS that high (which I do not believe it will be), then Canon is taking a bold step. Unfortunately, most of us would pay whatever Canon says.
I would expect it to be closer to $1999-2299 USD. 2500 is pushing it. ;)

We can't have opinions now? Whether you agree with me or not is what's irrelevant here. It's my opinion, which I assume is still okay to post here.
That said, it doesn't make a great deal of difference to me one way or the other, and I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. I was responding out of consideration to the OP.

For the record, the responses to that "review" are a riot.

Upon further review...
Okay, I admit it, I didn't get the joke. I looked at the rest of the site. Rant withdrawn, apologies extended. Insert sheepish look here. Hey, I need sleep.

When you write review of a certain product, based on what that product does not have, rather than what it does, it is easy to make yourself look like an idiot.. :D

This whole thread is funny. It's amazing how an adverse comment (even made in jest) about someone's preferred brand of equipment will raise hackles.

Canon MSRP is $3999. This camera is a significant improvement over the MkIIn...why would you expect it to be significantly cheaper?

what an idiot. Once again just another misunderstanding and representation of ignorance the general public usually has towards things like this.

Good point... from everything I've read about it, it's the new "stepping stone". I thought that should bring it down a bit and they'd offer others above it. (higher mp, etc) I probably typed too fast on this one...

I don't know... it just seems like a lot for such a small step when the lower lines are quickly catching up. What do you expect the 40D upgrades to be? ;)

Quite entertaining! The beauty of it is that no one is forced to buy the IDMK3. You can stick with the XT and a bunch of Tamron/Sigma lenses and take great pics if that's your thing.
