My daughter and I generally shot together..she does the groomsmen, I do the brides..then we come together at the wedding...but at seperate spots..

I thought the other day, what about headsets?

So..do you use them?

Pro's and Con's?

I've seen some using headsets with a com radio - or mobile phones. As long as it doesn't disturb others, I think it's a great idea, especially if you have to cover large grounds.

+1 for me. Keep them off during ceremony, etc. But very handy to coordinate things.

My company shoots video and a photo package, so on some big weddings we can have up to six staff. We all keep in touch throughtout the whole day using a Kenwood PMR radio and a headset with boom mike. They have been absolutely indispensable.
Just remember to check before a service that you don't come over the church PA. If you buy pro models you should be okay plus you get better sound and range.

The comments we have had from guests on how professional the outfit/staff look gets for a lot of recommendations.

I just purchased a set of walkie-talkies with headsets from Future Shop. Not too expensive, has a very good range and has numerous channels to choose from. I did a wedding at one location where the organizers and the planner were communicating with similar devices, but we were able to find a free channel.

To give you an idea of what I have (although it may be irrelevant to what you may want to use), I use Audiovox GMRS6000C (it has a 8km - 5 miles - range). It comes with a charger, headsets, pouch, belt clip and does the job for me and my wife!
