Just wondering where I can get some high quality prints from recent photos I've taken. Just starting out with new AB light kit. Where do you have your pictures printed at, other than the local CVS? Do you use any particular websites for printing? My printer is not capable of picture prints. Any input greatly appreciated. THANKS!

for mpix.com - do they check over the stuff and adjust it or just auto print? Prices don't look to bad, examples of course are appealing...take a lot for me to change printers, but they do look pretty good I must admit :)
EDIT: Found some info on there site about it!

Yeah, they say they do, and I'm inclined to believe them -- I've always had tremendously good output from them. :) If you're not shooting skin tones, try the metallic pearlecent paper some time -- you'll be stunned!
FWIW, if you're worried about them hosing up the color correction (which they haven't done to me yet, and I've ordered a lot of stuff from them), they offer you the option of telling them to not do any color correction. They also have downloadable color profiles that you can load into Photoshop to help you do manual color correction for their printers.

I tried Mpix and the prints I got back are much darker than the original, I emailed them and they are looking into it. The colors are fine. Maybe I just need better color management although they were perfect on my ink jet. I hade the 8x10 prints mounted on matt board. I'll stay with them.

I have had sucees with mpix, the only thing I dislike is that they have no glossy option

Did you request that they not color correct the photos? If you did, you need to make sure you load their color profile when doing your color toning (they make it available for download, I believe). Likely your inkjet's color profile is different than MPIX's.

Update, they sent me their calibration kit, which consisted of a print and a cd with the same image. I used it then had the print remade. It was a perfect match to my screen. I have since purchased a Spyder2express, recalibrated and once again it was a perfect match.
