For a Denis Reggie PJ style of shooter what would you consider to be the essential "posed" shots? Denis says he spends about 20 minutes on the "posed" shots so the list can't be a long one ;)
I'd like to hear from the PJ style shooters about their "minimum" posed list.
Thanks,
Mike

Weekends are a bit slow here sometimes.
Bride full length (front and back).
Groom full length.
B&G together, full length, half length, head shot.
Full length and 1/2 length of each member of wedding party.

I'm curious about wedding photography but what's a 'PJ' shooter?

Thanks for the suggestions .. how about the wedding party, the couple, the parents, the grandparents, & the immediate family? I'm assuming that I will have enough of the B&G by themselves with the PJ coverage.

Funny girl!
Here's my checklist. I always have it with me but end up never using it... But I do give it to the B&G so it can give them ideas of poses and they may propose a few different shots that would be more personal for them.
The bride and groom with the bridal party standing
The bride and groom with the bridal party sitting
The bride and groom with the bridal party (alternating male and female)
The bride and groom with all of the bride’s family
The bride and groom with the bride’s immediate family
The bride and groom with the bride’s parents
The bride and groom with all the groom’s family
The bride and groom with the groom’s immediate family
The bride and groom with the groom’s parents
The bride and groom with both sets of parents
The bride and groom with special family members
The bride and groom at the ceremony site door (or window) in silhouette
The bride and groom on the steps of the ceremony site
The bride with bridesmaid’s flowers around her
The bride and groom getting in the car or the limo
The bride and groom kissing
A shot while both bride and groom are sitting in the car or limo
The romantic and artistic shots of the bride and groom
Silhouette shot of the bride and groom kissing
Bride and groom sitting next to one another, bride’s head on groom’s shoulder (from the back)
The bride and groom hugging and looking in other’s eyes
The bride sitting on the ground, with the groom’s head in her laps
The groom kissing the bride in the neck
The groom offering a helping hand to his bride (very nice in a stairwell)
The bride and groom walking away hand in hand
The bride and groom walking together and talking to each other
The groom taking the bride in his arms and lifting her from the ground
The rings in a special setting
Other poses according to setting (nature, park, water, fountain…)
Oh, and the proper way to do things: Grand-parents shots first (shows respect and gives them a break afterwards), kids (won't hold still for very long and you don't want them running around in all pictures), large groups all the way down to close families, bridal party and finally, the newlyweds.

Martha Stewart. She lists a 'suggested' wedding shot list in all her wedding magazines. I give the list to the b&g and they mark the ones they have to have and I got from there.
I like sblais list, however

Ditto... That's a good starting point list to give to couples before hand. I go with the flow. Worst experience B&G want the entire family (40+plus) aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews etc. in one large shot. Ugh.

I got married October 2006 and this is the list I found helpful.

I put my own list together and print it on my own stationery to give to the b&g. They love it and it makes you look oh-so-prepared and thoughtful (and you get a good idea of how many people and thus formal shots you'll be dealing with).
As for before ceremony shots, I hardly ever have a b&g who don't mind seeing each other, so I split it up and do groom + family + groomsmen first, then a handful of getting ready of the bride, then bride + family + bridesmaids (groom locked away with a beer), and them together after the ceremony. That way the groom has to wait around a bit, but they never mind for the sake of spending less time shooting later and more time partying.
