National Geographic - Recommended Photo Web sites

Why isn't POTN recommended here? I know that POTN is a forum only site but come on, it should have got mentioned because you can get some great help and ideas from here!

There are so many sites available, I can only guess that they will only put so many on their site. Most of the links that they provide are generic photography sites and there is one specific Nikon link and another for a Canon resource site. If I look at the Nikonians site that they link to it is so much more than just a forum. They provide further links, news, tutorials, etc. Maybe they are looking for something like that.

You can get alot of information here but alot of that information is in the form of personal opinions. Not to say it is not valid. Did you send the question to National Geographic to ask them?

I find that "articles" can be a secular point of view and I would rather prefer a wider spectrum; agreement and disagreement; personal real world opinion. POTN provides that, even if you don't like it or want it. Plus it is real people discussing real issues, well apart from the gear heads in the lens section :) Please excuse me, that was a JOKE! :D That forum scares me, yeah, I know, I’m a pu**y!

Yes I did actually contact them. I sent an email to the Online Editor Kathie Gartrell. I will let you know the response, if I get one.
