I picked up my D60 Monday. It has worked very well until last night after about six moon shots in manual mode. I do not know why, but all the creative modes are now screwed up. M and A-DEP respond as if they are AV mode - top dial sets apeture, back dial sets exposure compensation, camera sets shutter speed. All creative modes result in a thirty second exposure, regardless of shutter speed set.

All the point & shoot modes seem to work, they just want to pop up the flash first.

I have tried with different lenses, microdrives and CF cards. Have also tried tethered to the AC adapter. I removed both batteries but the only thing changed was the time and date.

Is there a way to reboot or reflash the system? If not I will return the camera and wait for a new one.

I have about $2500 invested in this body so far, and it is not making any money for me today. I am not a happy camper right now.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

D60 is so new all bugs are surely not revealed. I had something similar in my D30 yesterday, when exposure bracketing went from -1/3, 0 to +1 !

If these bugs are not corrected by powering off the camera (removing batteries) then it could be so that service is the only option. If there was the original firmware available, I would not want to burn new firmware on a defective camera because an error in firmware upload that could result to complete lockup.
