I am SO excited...my weddings don't start this year till May, but I am so excited to get another one...and I just had to tell some people who understand how exciting that is....

My goal was to just get two from the expo..I got em. Now I would LOVE to do at least 6-13 this year..but we will see..

my daughter/partner is expecitng in June, so if I don't do too many in the summer that is ok. I also do a baseball league and a few other sports things...so that will keep me going..but sitting and not shooting is driving me NUTS>>>>> I have redid and redone all my paper work..

I am SO ready..

Hooray - congrats on getting things up and running. After doing weddings for a couple of years you'll see the referrals coming in from previous weddings. That's the best.

nice lisa, i know how you feel, but for me, unfortunately i have to turned down some because of my full time job, im doing wedding as a sideline but mostly i shot sports..but im headed to Calgary and one to Winnipeg on May for weeding....have fun doing it...

When you get to high volume you get a whole new set of challenges, like keeping track of each album, CDs, what each couple want, etc. I have contracts and a huge spreadsheet which helps with me keep track of what's done and to do - eg billing, proofs, album, DVDs, letters, etc. I average one wedding per weekend in summer, with the odd weekend off, and some weekends with two weddings. Pretty dang busy.

I've had another couple of short notice ones come along - I think they're the most difficult, no time to prepare, and I have a day job which has me working on Saturdays at moment! So time to plan contracts, discussions, places, and time off work, all within 3-4 weeks really is short. I do like the emails for 2008 though.

This is my first full year of shooting weddings for myself. I started last year as a shooter for another photographer.

So far I have booked 12 weddings for this year and I am meeting with 2 brides this week for weddings one week apart in October.:D

I am so excited with how well business is going!
