Portrait Reference Photo

I want to paint a sharp focus watercolor portrait of my son for my wife. Please C&C and let me know if you think this would be a good start...

I think it would be nice if his blanket wasn't in the way of his mouth. The reds/yellow tones of the rest of the photo seem to compliment each other well, but the blanket sticks out like a sore thumb. :( Just my opinion.

Not to say this isn't a good photo (and that your son isn't absolutely adorable!:) ), but in terms of a watercolor, those are my thoughts.

Thank you. I'll try some without that distraction. He loves his "blankie" though. He won't sleep without it!!
