Whre do you find these planthoppers all the time? I love them but have only ever spotted one (my avatar) and it didn't even have the 'fibre optics' sticking out of its backside like yours. Nice shot!

I think I read the fibre optics are made from their excrement ?! The wooden benches at work always have one or two perching on them. They are close to ivy cover but they seem to prefer the benches - maybe they are addicted to creosote? Can you post the original of your avatar in this thread for comparison please?

Hiya RM,
Excellent shot of your old friend, do you know if their excremental fibre optics serve any purpose other than a self illuminated roding set maybe.
Cheers for now

Your shot is much better than mine:

I only found this chap after I had been gardening for most of the afternoon and went inside to make myself a well deserved G&T, when my son said: ooh my god, you have something crawling on your jumper!

I think I prefer your shot - softer on the eye; now i'm thinking I over sharpened mine  lovely colours. Mines a two shot stack by the way.

Wow Racketman
Who have you been taking lessons from?
Your pics are getting alot better.
man I wish I had time to and travel friendly equipment to shoot macro on my vacation over there.
The wife and I are coming over at the end of April.
I haven't been home in about 5 years and the 10 days we are there we are going to be travelling around quite a bit.
Anyway keep up the good work.
