You done ok , nice sharp pics, were you using the 2.8 Gary ? do u find Rugby easier to shoot than football? is that Peter Crouch's brother in the first pic?

Nice shots Indeed.
I am not a sport shooter that much but i can see that most of your shots had cropped either too much or not correct crop, including the Ball in your shot is interesting, if you like to exclude the ball then try to get another action position where you don't need the ball in the frame and yet the shot is interesting (don't get my opinion, i am hobbyist).

Bit like me with the Rugby, first game in you are never going to produce award winning pictures, but you did ok. All of the ball in a pic makes for a better image and I hear what you say about the famous (?) church in the background but a tighter crop on that last image and it would have been a good action shot.

I don't think the church adds anything to the picture. I'd crop closer like hamster said.

Other than that I'd say for a first attempt they are good. Keep at it.

I like the idea of getting a landmark in the back of the shot like you've done with the crooked spire. I've always wanted to have a go at Bedfont Town in Middlesex because the final approach to Heathrow is directly behind the top goal and 747's land every other minute. That would make a great shot...

Youve gotta try and get a 747 in the background:)
