well, a bit of an EBL clash. Both teams are vighting at the top (Thunder 1st, Rockets 2nd) for the title.

A few images from the game which Thunder won 100-82.

Exif data is intact, however they are all with a 1D MKI and a 50mm 1.8

#1 - Blindfolded shooting

3rd one does it for me, although i think it could do with a crop. portrait crop, chopping off half of the Thunder players calf.
How do you fnid the battery consumption of the 1D classic, I've ust got my hands on one, and havent tried it out yet. I got 4 battereis between both bodies, so I'm not too worried.

I usually get anywhere from 500-700 on a single Canon battery. The weekend before last I shot 900 frames at 2 hockey games back to back with alot of chimping as the sun was in and out. I've never got that many before.

Nice work there Darren, 3 is the pick of the bunch for me, although would agree with the tighter crop. That said, I would have resisted lopping limbs off and just cropped as tightly as possible around the players.

Good job.

I was reading another thread on this forum, with members saying that they can just about get 150 shots off a single charged battery on their 1D, which kinda got me worried.

Some very nice shots there.............do you find there are any focussing issues with the 50mm i.e is it fast enough?

Hopefully this multiquote thing should work, hopefully!!

Thanks buddy, normally I'd crop close, I'm not sure why I didn't to be honest

Thanks Steve, I really like this one. The paper went with 2 team bench shots (one of each team) and a decent midair shot piccie.

Where were they playing? The game was a home match for Worthing Thunder so they were playing at the Worthing Leisure Centre.

Focusing can be a bit hit and miss sometimes. Most of the time it's fine but when the action/direction of the players change quickly it can struggle, but what do you expect for about £70!!! I'd love to have the light to use a 70-200 2.8 but the lights are just not good enough.

I'm getting 1/320 at 1.8 and ISO 1250. I'd have to push to over ISO1600 and drop to 1/250 to be able to use a 2.8.

Thanks DarrenL - After posting I saw the banner in the back ground of one of your shot. My team will be playing the Rockets in a few months and I was trying to find out how the light is in their home court.
