Is anybody else having problems using the canon zoom browser with Windows XP?

I love the program but find it "finnicky" and subject to the good ole Microsoft freeze

May I suggest you go back to Win95 (OSR2), or if you must Win98 SE. XP is the greatest example of Bloatware ever conceived.
I cant help with your problem otherwise I am afraid.

Don't change your OS as suggested by someone else. Win XP is a very stable OS as long as it wasn't installed as an upgrade.

I do recommend BreezeBrowser which is much better than the Canon software.

BreezeBrowser together with Breeze Downloader is my choice too.
To be exact, win95/98 are not even _operating_ systems. They are more like _disk_ operating systems with GUI ;)
Windows 2000 is my choice, but IMHO there is nothing wrong with XP either.

I would like to know how you solved the canon zoombrowser problem. The software is on the computer but I can't get the photos to download onto the computer. I had no trouble for the first few months and now I am stuck.

Currently I have Windows XP Home Edition ,Windows 2000 Advanced Server, Windows ME, and Windows 98 SE all running Breeze Browser. All computers seem to work just fine with either Canon’s Zoom Browser or Breeze. I really prefer Breeze over the Canon application. You can download Breeze Browser at: http://www.breezesys.com/

Just got it and have not used it much. They will let you down load and try it with a few images.

I finally upgraded my Windows XP (Home edition) to Windows XP (Pro?) and reloaded the latest version of the software that comes with the Canon D-60.

I have also been making second copies of any photo files or libraries of photos for use in other photo applications to avoid any conflicts or need to refresh the libraries in Zomm Browser.

Based on other recommendations, I have tried the Breezebrowser and Thumbnail programs....but feel most comfortable with working versions of Zoom browser. (Also, it can be downloaded for free)
