Tripod and Head mounts?????

Im currently using a Canon 10d and a cheap tripod. Seeing the weather is getting nicer in the rockies i was looking for a good tripod and mount for a day or weekend photo trips. Im leaning toward Manfrotto 322rc2 mount but im open to any suggestions. price range maybe around $300

3021 Pro?

If you can go more, I think the Gitzon G-2220 is better than the 3021 PRO. See my comments about the 3021 here: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=28272

But what will you be using it for? Landscapes, wildlife, macros???

I going to use mostly landscape, wilderness and every now and then some micro
