Been avidly reading the Strobist blog (http://strobist.blogspot.com/2006/05/round-up-starving-student-off-camera.html) and I quite fancy having a go at using my Sigma flashgun off camera on a stand with a brolly for location stuff. I'm having trouble tracking down some of the bits and pieces here:

Umbrella adapter- to attach the flash to a light stand and mount the umbrella
Sync cable to hotshoe- because my flash doesn't have a sync socket.

I plan on using a radio trigger with it. I have a Canon Off Shoe cord but it isn't really long enough. I realise I will lose ETTL-II but the flash can be set manually.

I have found the stuff on e-bay in the US but would prefer a local option ideally.

Any ideas?

As far as a hotshoe I guess that depends on what kind of flash you have, but here are some
