ST-E2 Any good

I`m thinking of getting the ST-E2 to trigger my 430EX. I cannot afford the 580EX so I`m trying to find a suitable way of getting my flash off camera, for more creative wedding shots, but without paying through the nose.
Is the ST-E2 any good? I know it relies on line of site and the range isn`t that great. But it isn`t the most expensive option either!

Is there any other way of doing this (on a budget)?

Tony, I use mine a hell of a lot....love it for dance floor shots. Not only can you control 2 off camera flashes, it also helps focus in low light.

I like mine and have used it outdoors as well as indoors.
