Is this the one?or was it a slightly older model because i hear some call it the 75-300?
And can anyone find the post on this forum where someone showed pics from this lens?
Thanks

How much do you want to spend? I have the sigma 70-200 f/2.8 and love it. Maybe this will help your in your search.

No, the 70-200/2.8 is too expensive and too short

The one i'm interested in is the x-300 apo macro (super II?) or whatever it's called

I've used the sigma 100-300DL,canon EF75-300 and EF100-300 so i'm curious how the best sigma consumer telezoom compares

Look here (http://www.photographyreview.com/pscLenses/35mm,Zoom/PLS_3128_830crx.aspx). Sigma 100-300mm f4.5-6.7 DL seems to be a great lens, there are only 3 reviews though...

yeah i've tried that one.Nowhere near as crappy as most say :)
but i want something better
It's not as good as the canon 75-300 but i'm guessing the apomacrosuperII is several notches better and might be better than the canon 100-300 even.
At least that's what some have said

I have the old style APO 70-300, and I really like it. Pictures are very sharp. The new version will go into macro mode from 200-300mm, where the old version had to be at 300mm. Other than that, I have never read anything that suggests they are different.

Just FWIW, I had and the key word is had a Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 (aperature I think) DL and it was not working well with the 10D. It was in need of a rechip. I sold it for what I got it for $150 and that was that. This lens was bought in Dec, 1999 and had it until it was sold and got the big Sigma lens I have now and have not looked back.

You want the APO version from what I've read (I do). I had to get mine rechipped, and got it back in a couple of weeks. It works perfectly now.
