Got this email today.....

"Hi!

My name is Herman, and I am the drummer for swedish band Work of Art.
We are about to record our first album, and would very much like to use your picture "Drops" on our album-cover.
Unfortunally, we don't have any money to offer you for this, but you will of course be given credit for the picture.

I told them they could use it and asked if I could get a copy of the CD with my artwork on it......Kinda cool that someone so far away wants my picture.:D

Seems silly that they don't have "any money" but meh, its up to you how your photography is used. :)

Well, they're just "startin" out so I guess thats a good excuse. Would be nice to get a thank you payment but whatever........I would be happy with a copy of the CD cover...

Yeah, but I have a ton more than whats on there. I put some of my photos on Iterfacelift and thats how these guys found it.

i dont have anything really constructive to offer.

but, at least they were nice enough to ask.
although, maybe they didnt want to risk a future lawsuit.

but congrats on that though. hope you made a good decision. the way i look at it, only good things can come out of it. maybe they'll ask for more pictures in the future and they'll have money at that time. or maybe someone will say "hey...who made your album cover....?.." and they can direct those people to you. at least mention something like if anyone asks they should just direct any emails to you or something. if that's what you want.

again, i hope this opens up a nice small door for you at least knowing that someone wants YOUR picture for their cd cover. that would be good for me if ever LOL.

Is the copy on the site they got it from full-res? If not, you may want to send them the proper quality version; it'd be a shame if your photograph appeared on an album cover all pixelated and fuzzy...

Yeah, they got the full deal... I just got another email from them thanking me and they're going to send me a copy for my "I'm Famous" box:lol:
They said the cd should be done in October......

Congrats to you, it will be a great advertisement for your work.
I had a Bluegrass Gospel band use one of mine for their cover.
I think I sold 20 copies for them just to show off my picture on the cover.
And I'm not crazy about Bluegrass.
Will you be able to get a Digital copy of the cover so we can enjoy it too?
