Well I decided to give it another try. I decided to leave the 70-200 2.8 at home and focus on using the 85mm 1.8 for shooting indoor volleyball. I purchased a gray card for setting a custom white balance and learned to setup the Rebel XT in manual mode (tv=500, av=1.8, iso=1600). Attached are a few examples of the results.Shot all pictures in RAW.
Tried my hand at noise removal for the first time using Noise Ninja and adjusted some of the color parameters in DPP. Any suggestions on how to make them better would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris

not bad. nice pics. you stopped the action pretty well with the 1/500 sec. how old were the kids? the setter has a nice form but he needs to bend his knees a little more and the kids in the last photo show that they are pretty young cause I haven't done that since middle school back in the day. and the 3rd looks like an attempt at a sort of jump servce. they do look a bit dark so if you stopped ur shutter down another 3rd step or so it would be a bit brighter. nice job though. keep it up.

Thanks for the feed back so far. The pictures are appear under exposed as a result of my not so talented post processing. The originals are actually slightly over exposed - tip I learned on this forum. I will try and rework the RAW files and get a better exposure. Thanks.
The kids are all 12 and 13 years old. Some have played volleyball for a few years - the first two photos. Some are just learning - the last two photos.
