I've recently read contradictory info on the differences between a
CMOS sensor(such as the Canon D60's) and a CCD sensor (such as the up-coming Nikon D100's).
Among other issues, the one of importance was the issue of noise... one report on the technology said that CMOS sensors cause MORE noise in the photos. Another actual review of the D60 said that the CMOS resulted in LESS noise than a CCD.
Since the sensors are the "film" of a digital camera, and the competition will be fierce in the digital SLR arena, I'm thinking that this could be a real deciding factor for photographers.
Does anyone have some insight as to which is better, CMOS or CCD, in their opinion?
