hi. I know this question will appear to be trivial for most of you, but i have some Tiff 16 bits file in photoshop, and i would like to produce some jpeg out of those. in the "save as2 menu there is not .jpg extension (only Raw, psd etc.)

how can i convert thbose tiff file to jpeg please?

also, does anybody have a link that explains how to batch / resize / convert file formats?

Many thanks

Dan

The TIFFs are in 16-bit mode.

Image... Mode... 8-bits

If you're working in AdobeRGB, then do Image... Mode... Convert to Profile... sRGB.

Conversely you could also do File... Save For Web to get JPGs. This method is better for the web since you can vary the quality and see the resulting image and file size before saving. Save For Web will automatically convert to 8-bits - though you'd still want to convert to sRGB.

To add to Scottes: JPG does not support 16 bit, that's why you have to convert to 8 bit, otherwise you won't be able to save as JPG.
