Anybody have this program? If you do can you tell me how you read a caption that is attached to a photo. I am sending images to a freind with attached info files and he can't seem to figure out how to open them. I don't know it may only be a process that can be done with Photoshop.
If you have PSP#8 I would be glad to send you a photo with file info attached so you may try and open it. File size is very small so it won't be a long dwnld or take up HD space.
Thanks,
Jeff

What do you mean by "a caption is attached to a photo" ? And "images... with attached info files" ?
I'm pretty good with images - I've done a lot of programming on various formats, and binary manipulation. I have no idea what these statements mean though.
If you want to send them to me I'll take a look, but I won't be able to get to it until much later in the day. I'll PM my email.

To explain more to anyone else interested, file info is attached to a photo in PS by clicking on file in the tool bar. Then click on file info and a window pops up. It is here that you can add a caption, photo credit, date and origin of picture and copyright info.
If you submit a picture to say, AP, WireImage or about any large newspaper, if you want a chance for that picture to be published you better have the file info filled out. Reason being, the editor doesn't want to guess on what is happening in the picture nor does he want to run the shot without names of anyone in the picture. They also want a date when the image was created, where and by whom.
It is a great tool for storing info on images before you archive them. Lets say you take a shot of a kid playing baseball during a game. You add the file info and save to a CD named "Baseball Little League 2004". Now the parents of this kid see the image and want to buy it. You sell it and everyone is happy. Now two years later, the parents call you up because little Johnny hit his first homerun on the shot you took, Johnny's dog Spot got ahold of the picture yesterday and ripped it to shreds. Is your memory so good that you can locate that CD and then pick out little Johnny from the other 78 kids pictures you took that day at bat? Johnny's mom tells you he was on the Pirates and wore number 7, easy...right?Probably not but, if you attached the file info it is much easier. You open a few pictures of kids on the Pirates and locate kid wearing number 7. Ok you have 3 photos of that kid batting. Open the file info and you see your caption, "Little Johnny hits a home run vs the Braves at South Town Baseball Park." Ok you have two shots with basically the same info, "homer by Johnny vs the Braves". One is from June 7 the other from July 10. Now which one is really his very first homerun? Not hard to figure.
By filing the file info, you take all the guess work out of what, where, when and why when you need to locate that file later on. Just think of it as a back up to your tack sharp memory, I do.
Ahhhh what did I do with my keys?
