I am thinking about moving closer to an SLR and getting a new camera. I am thinking about these two: Canon PowerShot S1 IS or the G5. Which has the best features. Are the features worth the loss of MP? Are there any other cameras upto $500. (or less).
Thanks!

Well its hard for anyone to answer your question because the S1 IS is so new. The 10X zoom is nice. I thought less megapixels may be a good thing, because of decreased noise, but I noticed the CCD size for the S1 IS is smaller, so the advantage may not be that great. The G5 is nice, and its really cheap too, but it has its flaws, like all cameras. Its a great learning camera.
