Metering Choice for Sports.

When shooting sports during late morning to early afternoon sun, would Center Weighted Average be best rather than the Partial Metering method? For me it seems Partial tend to cause over exposure in bright areas while CWA seems to give a more even spread. Any comment on this? Thanks.
