Took this today. I love it. What do you guys think?
Taken at the end of Edinburgh runway outside Adelaide South Australia.

Great capture, Peter!
Just the right Tv, in my opinion, to get a nice blur on the props.

Prop blur was a priority :)
Thanks for the comment. Had held no IS at 1/160@200mm
I surprised myself how sharp I managed to get it.

1/160 and no IS you say? Impressive!
Is this a crop or the full capture?

I see p3s at least 4-5 times a day, flying at around 500 feet or lower.

Nice shot, good angle, and they were nice to lower the flaps.:)

This was taken just after a touch'n'go
They did 3 ccts and I think were aware of me with the camera on the 2nd cct as they gave me the wing over as they went over head instead of straight on.

Yay Peter - that's a brilliant capture of a well looked after workhorse.

These planes do hold a special place in my heart. I after working on them for 10 years and the fact I am now back after 8 years away from them says something.

I don' think so. Do many US Orions come to Oz?

Sometimes they visit but not often.
Ours are washed every 21 days or so. So if you see a dirty one it's possibly at the end of the 21 days. Richmond is where they go for major servicing so they will get a wash when they get there.

Ok I'm peeved.
I sent this to Airliners and it was typically rejected. Anyone tell me what is wrong with this shot and when compared to other Orion shots on Airliners it kicks ass. I think
There are some pretty average shots on Airliners

Just becaus Airliners rejects it does not mean your photo is flawed.
Have you searched for Orion pics? If they have plenty , they won't accept any more unless it has something unique to offer. I have never submitted anything to them , but I have heard some people taking a long time to get anything accepted. Examples I have seen that were rejected were great photos IMHO.

I did a search for P3 on the site and from what I saw mine was a unique angle.
