Anyone else have one and play on live regularly....what games do you play.

i myself either play Call of Duty 3, Rainbow Six:Vegas, or FIFA 07, but i do have other games, just dont play alot online.

Just want to see how many "kids" there are on here. in 24 by the way and will always be "15" when it comes to video games

i have crackdown, preordered it months in advance to make sure i got my spot, that and its also a great game! nothing like jumping around like spider man, and not needing a web or spandex suit .

GRAW2 is also next on my list. followed by guitar hero II!

The way I see it, they are both two time consuming hobbies. One for rainy days, one for sunny days.

Is Live gold worth it...sometimes, but when you're photography addiction takes over, it's a whole different ballgame. Then, there's no time for the box.

I will say that Live is fun, just wish it was cheaper. It's better to buy the 3 month pack, so at least you don't waste so much money up front, to see if you like gaming online. It's addictive, but requires LOTS of time to master...though, when there is a challenge weekend, it's a nice time to play.

Having a wife, mind you, helps me balance things out...otherwise, she'd not be happy.

Well, I've been playing a lot online with the PC, but since none of my friends bought an Xbox360, it felt like playing online wouldn't be the same thing. It's always fun to play with / against your real friends because then it's personal if you win or lose.

Nowadays I mostly play to kill time, and rarely for long hours at a time. My fiancée likes playing too, so that's not a problem ;)

isnt the 3 month package like $20-30 the whole year is 50, so IMHO its the only way to go. I love live, its great for playing with friends, and just for a change of pace over single player.

3 months is like 16.99 or 17.99. It's only for a trial period, to see if a person would even benefit from it. Then, if you like it, then, well, get the year + 1 package, which is like 69 bucks, gets you some discounts, and comes with other little things.

I forgot my darn wifi adapter in NY...so, once it gets to Florida, I will be able to get back online. Oh, yeah, I just moved...to Jacksonville.

Even the rockstar table tennis is an awesome game.

thats cool. i was on a trip so the internet was dog slow and i couldnt check the prices. i know the year+1 package is $50 though, because i just bought my subcription card (the halo3 collectable one :p) a month or so ago. even still, i think if you are even remotely interested in it you might as well buy for the whole year. Congrats on moving to Jax, hope you like it there, sucks you forgot the wifi adapter, i had to buy one for my house's network too.

If you have a HD-TV it's worth it to get the HD player add-on, even if the world will eventually go Blu-Ray.

I actually hated the Dirt demo but I love the full version, its much better. I'm gonna try getting back into Forza 2 tonight. Sims are great, I loved the first one and the entire GT series but Forza 2 lacks tracks and so much. Forza 2 is basically a car painting sim really. It's all about the auction house and winning hello kitty and jessica alba cars :D

Don't judge the game on the demo. the demo wasnt very good, but the game is much better all around.

There are 12 locals with 45 tracks, and with 310 customizable and paintable cars i'd hardly call the game lacking. Yes the painting is fun, but its not the focus of the game i wouldnt say. Also, i design all my own cars, so i dont need to buy them off of the auction house . i don't know, id give the game a solid chance, i really have enjoyed it, but i also spend a lot of time racing online with some friends of mine aswell. http://img162.imageshack.us/img162/2445/bd9151f04a4c4165813f2e5oy7.jpg

So what kind of TVs or monitors are you using with the X360? We've got a 32" CRT TV, but I'm really looking forward to going to HD at some point. However, it doesn't seem like full HD (1080p) would be any better than 720p, since the box is rendering everything at 720p?

For a long time I was thinking that going for a 1080p LCD would be a sure thing when it comes to upgrading the TV. Now I’m not so sure.

We’re sitting ~ 3 meters from the TV, and we’ve been looking at 40” and 46” models. It seems that at a 3 meter distance, you probably can’t see the difference between 720p and 1080p even with a 46” LCD (well, perhaps if you’re connecting the computer and using it as a computer screen, which we’ll not). So perhaps a 720p 46” LCD is a viable upgrade option... would probably look great both for movies and 360 games :)

Does anyone here actually think that the PS3 that was released was actually meant to be Sony's answer to the XBOX 360? If you do then you are quite mistaken. All the PS3 was is market testing. Why do you think the initial SKUs were in such low availability? They're testing and pushing up market expectations and now, low and behold, they're bringing out an 'update'. What they're actually doing is bringing out their origional concept machine with the added advantage of market research and consumer feedback. Anyone that paid for the PS3 got chumped! :p

So their marketing approach was to rip off all their loyal customers that jumped on thier system? Im not buying that or that they are somehow pushing up expectations by releasing what they believe is an inferior product. Personally I think they relied on the playstation name and bluray to sell itself and it nipped them in the arse. They completely missed the mark on the user interface and are forced to go back now and update the firmware introducing new features on a regular basis until they get it right. The fact you say people got chumped shows you know little about the system as whole, its more then a game machine. The Bluray player, DVD upscaling to 1080p and a few other features make the hardware worth it alone. Plus it took the 360 a good 18 months before decent games starting flowing. I have both systems and they both have their plus and minuses.

Well, the thing is that BluRay/HD-DVD movies might actually look better on same prized 720p screen than the 1080p screen. (This seems to be quite apparent between the Sony D3000 and W2000 screens.) Of course when the new 1080p screens come out, they will have the same technology (but be prized quite a bit higher).

But considering that you won't even be able to see the pixel difference between 720p and 1080p at the distance you're watching from, it seems like you're paying for bragging rights more than a better picture :)

wow this died a death didnt it!

Well update my xbox died right before launch of halo- so fearing a month return i bit the bullet and bought a ps3-
Right the ps3 does beat the xbox on ability, but sadly there are few games that even begin to use its power- however anyone who has played motorstorm on a HD screen 42" above will im sure agree that it is the best lookin race game ever made!
But i must say i am favourin the xbox again, more games cheaper games and more people out there on live than psn. The ps3 will own the xbox in 2-3 years when the machines are selling for 100£ less than they are now.
I mean look at the ps3 wifi built in 60 gig hd blue ray player. Xbox 20 gig hd that it!
The thing sony needs now as soon as possible, is metal gear, gran turismo, tekken 6, and a decent ridge racer exclusive. Because i know as a dual user, if a game comes out i am gonna pick the cheapest platform.

Of course the other thing sony suffer from is set backs!! even their home function has been delayed again. Call me silly but i like the achievements on xbox, and i want sony to do the same.

BTW also looking forward to little big planet or what ever it is called, that could be the mario game for sony.

Btw also added to games these last 2 weeks.
Bioshock
PGR3- it was cheap in the sale
Splinter Cell
Prey- dont ask!
Forza2
Half life- orange box

Cool that you revived the thread.

Our X360 died about 6 weeks ago, as I was playing FIFA 08. It was the Ring of Death issue, and it got shipped to Germany for repair. The tough part was that we bought a 46" HDTV the next week. Anyway, after about 3-4 weeks away, the X360 returned, and now it’s been playing nice every since ;)

Bought some Live Marketplace credits and downloaded some arcade games. They are actually quite fun if you only have a little bit of time to play. And my wife really likes a few of them :) Still, can’t wait for GTA IV.
