Well is was an interesting 3 days..... the event was held in what looks like an aircraft hanger with a translucent roof. This roofing made the day's interesting first it was casting yellow...and as clouds moved in your lighting would change dramatically. During the the day I was shooting ISO 800, 200 1.8, SS 800 at night it would go to either 1600-3200, 200 1.8 to 320-400. White balancing was also an issue with the lights and the roof.
Primarily used 85 1.8, 70-200 2.8, 15 2.8 Fisheye, 200 1.8

Those are great. Did you do an PP to the first one or was there such a lighting difference that you were able to silhouette??? What shutter speed are you using when shooting, nice crisp images.

I like the first one...very dramatic.
Nice color and DOF.... What settings (ISO / SS / f-stop.....) ??
That lighting had to be fantastic! Natural light to add some color. All my gymnastics are in sodium or fluorescent gyms and darker than all get out.

Great work. I like #2 best. #1 is a close second. Keep it up.

Great shots. I'd like to see the negative space under the balance beam cropped out in the first. I think it would really boost the image to the next level.

Wow these are awesome :D
When I took the first short look I just looked over you statement what gear you had used ... and then I was quite amazed to get that DOF with 85/1.8 and 70-200/2.8.
When I read it again, I spotted it. 200 1.8. Yeah.
Best regards,
Andy
