Lensbaby 3G with ext tubes?

Doesn't work???
I'm using my Canon 1DmII, the 3G and kenko tubes...
When I release the shutter it locks in an error code (Er 01) and won't do anything until I turn the camera off, then back on.....

Is this a know issue?
Is there a way around it w/o buying their macro lens?
Is it the same issue with telcons? (They're at home so I can't try them right now.)

Try taping the pins between the tubes and body.

The Lensbaby is a fully manual lens and probably doesnt transmit any data. This would likely cause problems if the kenko tubes doesn't handle this gracefully.

Nope, taping the pins doesn't help either (unless I did it wrong) but not locking the tube all the way onto the body works... IE lock the tube to the baby, but then leave it just shy of clicking onto the body. It's a snug enough fit to work....

probably not....

I don't see how taping them would be different than not connecting the tube all the way, so I must have missed something.....
but I just redid it, and sure enough with all pins taped it still doesn't work...
very strange.
