Does the Pro-1 battery charger (Canon CG-580) work internationally (100-240V, 50-60 Hz)?

That charger looks great for bike touring with my G3, when I need to reduce size and weight. Yeah, the G3 built-in charger is multi-voltage compatible, but I'd like something smaller and lighter. Steve's review claims that the CG-580 does not use a cord, and the prongs even fold up - sounds perfect for my need, and it is available separately.

The charger that came with my Pro1 will work anywhere in the world (with the right plug adapter). It's specs are 120 -240V 50/60Hz input.

The one that came with my Pro1 is not the one Steve is talking about. It does not plug directly into the power socket. If you are travelling about have you considered a third party charger that will work from the mains as well as 12v from a car cigar lighter..

Thanks for the thought, but I don't have car with me when I'm bike touring. They're way too big and heavy, although one would certainly be appreciated when the weather goes bad.

Thanks also for pointing out that there are apparently differences in the chargers. Is yours with cord also a CG-580?

The Pro 1 charger with the cord is the CB-5L. The CG-580 looks to be primarily for US power plugs. Which adaptor you get with the camera looks to be regionally determined, i.e., probably, the CG-580 is for the US.
