Hi,all. I am thinking of getting a 10D, but I've seen quite a lot posters in dpreview discussing the "focus issue". I was wondering, how bad this issue REALLY is?
Most of my pictures will be resized to 800X600 or less just for online sharing, will the focus issue still be very noticeable? Also, I am curious about what kind of pictures are affected by this "focus issue" mostly? Macro? bird shot? I will mainly take landscape pictures, and I am willing to try bird shots once I get my DSLR, so will that be an issue for those kind of pictures?
Your comments, information or suggestion will be very appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
Regards
Jay

THANK YOU, Ian!! Appreciated your input here.
You are in Canada too  where did you send your camera to? Montreal? Is that free of charge? Did you send both your camera and lens to Canon Canada or just the body?
Thanks again

Much,
I'm scratching my head. I saw my post and then came back here and poof! it was gone. Hmmmmmmmm.
Glad you read it before it wandered off
I dropped my camera body and all my Canon lenses off at the Montreal Service Centre. I live but a few minutes away.
They did everything N/C as everything was still under warrenty. Really nice folks there and the tech knows his stuff.

LOL... so i wasn't dreaming, you did reply my poster, thanks Ian.
I checked Canon.ca, and fond out the closest service centre is in Toronto, I guess if I get a D10 and have focus problem(REALLY hope not), I have to send it over to Toronto then. Ummmmm...wonder who is going to pay for the postage.

Much,
Usually you pay it to them and they will pay the return to you.

I see...that's great.
Ian, as i mentioned earier, I will mainly take landscape pictures, and I am willing to try bird shots once I get 10D, so will that focus problem be an issue IF there is a focus problem for my new purchase?
Thanks.

Oh,one more question, I have noticed the playback display diff between 10D and 300D, 10D is described as Rough image then final image. Is that applies to every signal review after one shot? Just curious

Jay,
Any 10D purchased today will not have any focus issues. Operator issues maybe but like any other piece of finely built equipment, you have to practice with it to get the best from it.
As far as the image question, I think you are refering to the image in the LCD. It takes a second or two for it to "sharpen up". Trying to judge the quality of an image on that little LCD is not really recommended. Your images will appear normal once you transfer them to your computer.
