Actually, it was -10 a few weeks ago, so 20-30 is a treat!
Plus, it's getting warmer, so I guess I'll live ;).

in March - isn't that early even for Turkey? I am keen to capture their emergence this summer - I see hundreds of their cast off skins on some trees in the park so I now where to look - I wonder if there is a best time of day?

As soon as the night time temps stay above 18C then go looking for them early in the morning. It's normal for them to emerge at night, but I've seen "newborns" before noon (I missed then coming out by a few hours at most).
