Hi guys,
Could someone please tell me if I can use Pekka's Linear sharpen 3.42 that he created for D30 for D300 as well?
If not, is there a similar action?
I use Canon's File viewer utility to convert sRGB RAW files to 16 bit Linear Tiffs. Now I want to convert these 16 bit Tiffs to regular 8 bit sRGB JPGs.
I would appreciate any advice.
Thanks.

The D30 Linear Sharpen action will process the 300D files, but the results will not be good. The sensor in the D30 has different colour characteristics, so the results will have colours that are "off".
Fred Miranda (http://www.fredmiranda.com) did create an action for process 10D linear files - not sure if he has updated it for the 300D.

Roger said, "the results will not be good."
I wonder, just how bad will they be? Can someone post comparison pics?
Does anyone know if the 300D 'profile' closely matches any of the other Canon cameras? I ask because the measurebaters are always talking about "this tweak" & "that tweak", & I wonder just how it would affect my own workflow.
Thanks

I did in fact try to use LinearSharpen 3.42 on my D300 pictures. The result did not look too impressive. It seems that LS 3.42 converts pics taken in Wide Gamut Color space that D30 shoots in. D300, however, does not shoot in Wide Gamut.
I also checked out Fred Mirinda's site and didn't find anything for processing D300 Linear TIFFs. I wonder if there is any freeware out there at all to process Linear TIFFs for D300? Am I just better off working with Non-Linear conversion?
I hope Pekka comes out with LS for D300.
Thanks.
