Can anyone tell me just how bad the vignetting with the Pro-1 is at wide-angle? DCResouce's review said it was noticeable in some of their shots..

Does anyone else have experience with this? examples?

Thanks

Can't say I have noticed anything specific.

Here is a shot I took earlier today at the wide setting, to my eyes it doesn't show any vignetting.

I don't always believe what reviewers say as things can be so subjective, also depends what you compare to (also lighting at the time can make differences). It's best to use your own judgement and get out there and enjoy taking pictures. It seems to me none of the current crop of 8M camera's are bad (perhaps they are just pushing the boundaries of technology at the moment in different ways). From the examples I've seen on the review sites as well as my own observations I think all would produce similar results.

Don't know what DCR has there Alex. Vignetting is a constant, not someting that is sometimes there, sometimes not. I certainly haven't had any, nor any noticable CA. This camera is so nice I would be willing to accept minor faults, but so far there are none that disturb me. To the contrary, it's what I want in a camera, particularly in a size and weight that's pleasant to carry, yet with so much performance.

If I had Rob's weather, I wouldn't be here poking around on the computer, I'd be out shooting with this little delight!

John,

Sounds as if you are enjoying the Pro1 as much as I am. It has been annoying that every time I get a bit of spare time lately to go out and use this little beast, the weather suddenly goes cloudy and overcast. Guess thats life...

I can handle the overcast, but it's COLD!

...and windy. Try to catch a yellow-breasted Spring(?) bird perched on a swaying branch at 1/50s and f4...
