Nice and sharp photo, with lots of detail. Looks like the Pro can really take nice pictures.

That's along the line of the "You must have a really nice camera" comment... Like the photographer had nothing to do with it.

No, that's along the lines of "Nice sharp photo, with lots of detail and 8MP to find just the right crop from. Looks like the Pro can make really nice pictures and you know how to take them and what to do with them in post processing."

No need to be so offended, I really didn't mean it that way - the only reason I mentioned the camera was because I am interested in the picture quality of the Pro 1, therefore it was the first thing that came to me when I saw the photo. Also, as Robh posted it in this forum, instead of 'share photos', and named this post "Pro 1..." I got the impression that this post was for other reasons.
So.....to make amends, well done Robh, for capturing the moment so well.

Thanks for the comments everyone. If you think this is detailed you should see the original. Details in the hairs and pores in the skin are incredible (perhaps too sharp and detailed for a portrait).
John_T.. Do you find the Pro1 oversaturates the Reds, or is it just me.
Love the Pro1 more and more. ...Rob

No Rob, I find the Pro 1 colors quite accurate and natural, RAW or JPEG. I'm viewing on Sony GDM-F520s over a Matrox Parhelia 256 graphic card freshly calibrated, so I'm pretty sure about what I'm seeing.
That said, I've only been plinking around with the Pro 1 so far and haven't tried all light conditions. Today is nice and sunny, though still cold, so maybe I'll get something worth looking at. I'll keep you posted.

By the way, just as a tip, I've been shooting the last five weeks on a tropical island, primarily with a G5, but also with a 10D. The warmer the camera gets, the higher the noise rises, 10D too. The LCD is back to back with the sensor, so in an already high ambient temperature, the LCD, if it is on, will further heat up the sensor raising noise astronomically. So with the Pro1 in warm weather it may be good to either flip out the LCD display or turn it off.

That is such a clear photo great detail. I am still waiting for my pro1 been waiting for about 2 weeks now, the wait is killing me. Seeing the quality of these pctures make me want it even more.
I've also started our own camera club with some mates over here. We all have different cameras. So far theres
Canon G3
Canon EOS 300D
Minolta D1
Nikon Cool Pix 5700
and my soon to arrive pro1.
When I get my camera we'll be going out for a weekend of shooting. I'll post the pics and that way we can all compare the pic quality.
Maybe we can all learn from eachother.
Forums are a great idea who came up with this idea?

The more I see such detailed photos from the new Canon cameras, the more I want to go buy a new digital camera even though my G2 is still happy.

I've had my Pro1 for a couple of days now and I have to say that stepping from an S30 to Pro1 was worth the money. I have been having a great time with the super macro mode and the spring flowers. I have seen some of the color fringing that Phil Askey reported in his preview, but only at 800% in photoshop! Normal enlargements are super. I plan on printing a 13x19 tomorrow to see how it fares.
