I think points are awarded based on what percentage of the shot is Superman's body. To get more of him in the picture, use +/-. On the first and second level zoom in as far as you can and take advantage of the slow speed of Superman.

Edit: You have to have his head in the picture. I took one with 90% of the picture being him but his head was cut off, and it was graded as a 3/10.

Most of my shots were zoomed out pretty far. This way, I got all of superman in the shots. Although I oftentimes did not get above 8/10, the shots were consistent and added up.
