Ok, this question will totally reveal just how ignorant I am, but I guess when you are learning there is no dumb question-right?? Ok, I took several pics this morning and didn't realize I was shooting in RAW-I'm using my P&S, waiting for my Canon 20D to arrive-so I tried downloading them onto my computer and I can't so what do I do?? I'm sure I could eventually figure it out, but I have a 3YO and a 9MO to tend to and don't have time to do anything until naptime!! Thank you so much for helping me!

Are you using a card reader or connecting the camera to the computer directly? Typically you need to use a card reader for RAW images. When the camera is connected to the computer directly it doesn't know that the RAW files are "pictures" so it doesn't allow you to transfer them.

Mike-
I am using a card reader, I think. I mean I just insert the CF card into a drive on my computer.

Yeah, that is a card reader. Make sure that you have your Windows Explorer (assuming you are using Windows) set to View Hidden Files. Maybe they are hidden for some reason.

Also, what type of P&S?

Ok, I will try that. My P&S is a Canon PowerShot S50. I just bought "Understanding Exposure" and have learned so much in just the first few chapters! I am learning so much about my P&S that I've had for 3 years! Thank you very much for your help! I took a look at your photo page-you have a beautiful family! Thanks again :)
