last saturday the wind picked up to 40mph with gusts up to 60 here in north texas. it picked up dust and coated the air making it orange.

so i decided to walk around the park and document it. all shot with the 30d and 24-70 f/2.8L

I've seen a similar phenomenon a few years back. There were huge forest fires several hundred kilometers up north and the resulting smog was so thick that everything looked orange. It looked much like your last picture.

Ah yes.....seen that before. Actually, I saw that many a time, though every time was while I was in Kuwait. Did it rain mud? That's really a sight you never expect to see....freaked me out the first time I saw it.

thanks, yea that's my dog buddy. he was tugging me the whole time i was trying to take pictures...made it difficult.

Sweet lens:lol: I experienced that dust storm Saturday. Nice shots. The news reported the dust storm 400 miles long, 70 miles wide and 17,000 feet up. It was wierd.
