Well, I went downtown today and shot for around an hour. It was CRAZY windy (50+ mph gusts...hard to stand up straight, let alone hold the camera steady.)

There are four I definitely like from the shoot, plus one that I like the excessive processing done, but I'm not sure whether I like it in color or black and white (that's the last one.)

This is the Ohio state Capitol, complete with great seal:

Here's a statue of President McKinley, with the Capitol reflected:

And here's my favorite of the shoot: Christopher Columbus, planting his foot on American soil (well, I like to think so in this shot.)

So, here are the two shots of the church...I heavily processed this, of course, going for a gritty, almost painterly effect in most respects. Do you prefer the color, the black and white, or neither?

Since the flags are reflected in the windows, the color one certainly helps to emphasize this. If the reflection were more mundane, I'd like the b&w one better.

All great captures. Love the Columbus angle.

Nice shots. I'm from Columbus as well. Didn't get a chance to get out to take pictures today. Was beautiful out, but definitely windy. :)

I agree with Kiernan, I agree with the color shot due to the flags in the reflection.

Thanks!

Mootomoo...yeah, the sky was great for photos Friday, but the wind certainly made me stay out less. I got windburned very quickly, and it honestly made it nearly impossible to shoot when it gusted.
