I have found so far that you cannot set the timer to 2 sec. only 10  . Is this correct? If not, how do you change?

Thanks

Also, where can i find a DOF chart??

On the 10D the timer is automatically set to 2 sec if you enable Mirror Lock Up. The DRebel doesn't have MLU, so I'd assume that you can only set the timer to 10 sec.

For a DoF chart you could buy one of these (http://abetterphotoguide.bizhosting.com/depth_of_field_calculator.html) or google for "depth of field calculator"

If you trigger the shutter with your remote control, it will set the timer to 2 seconds and take the picture 2 seconds after you've pressed the remote control button to release the shutter.

If you have a Palm OS handheld this makes a nice addition for DOF:

Also if you have a Palm OS handheld you can use the OmniRemote soft and the RC-1 database to use it as a remote and have that 2 sec delay :)

You can download the RC-1 database from here (it's my local copy as I can't find the original I've used to download it):

Ten seconds is correct. The workaround as others have stated is to get the http://www.loftynotion.com/ln,asp,ProductID_9019,mktm_Canon-RC-1-CAN,nl,Item.htm for you camera. With that device you can trigger the shutter immediately or on a 2-second delay. Quite a handy piece of equipment. Very convenient to because it snaps into a holder that slides onto the camera strap.
