question about "Photo A Day"

are you supposed to shoot a new picture everyday?
or days when you cant shoot can you use something shot before and never posted?

im trying to start one but only few i'll never get the chance to actually shoot one each day. but some days i end up shooting like 300 shots.

im new at it. and i only have a canon powershot a640. not the best but trying to learn.

so thanks. it WOULD be great to shoot one (or 100) everyday

I think the principle is to shoot a photo each day. This would keep the creative juices flowing and make sure the camera never collect dust (like mine has over the winter).
