You're going to have a lot of fun with it. I've learned so much by reading these forums and as someone else said, reading the manual. Go online and check out the Canon site for tutorials too. And don't be afraid to ask questions (just don't ask me cuz I'm still new to this too). The people here are great at giving advice!

I agree to a certain extent. In time when you get the settings down youll want another lens, but for right now practice with it. Remember it isnt the lens that makes the photographer.

Anyone know where the thread is that was started here a while ago......... show me your best kit lens picture.... that one? If so, post it here. I was truley amazed at how well that lens can take pictures, I almost (note: *almost*) decided I didn't need another lens.......
