I was playing around with my camera last night and she comes running everytime I get it out, so I felt like I HAD to take her picture once... She's becoming quite the ham these days.

Nice shot,
I hope when she gets older she doesn't turn out like mine - every time my camera comes out they run....in the opposite direction

Must have been all those years of posing for me lol.

She is SUPER cute! Great conversion, I like the pic, but I think it could be opened up just a little bit to the right. But besides that, GREAT!

eyes look less focused than bottom lip, maybe just needs sharpening. great photo, let her model as much as you can, because it sucks to have to fight for a decent shot.

Actually... she was moving around quite a bit and I had to be ultra quick to capture her. As a result, I believe the AF is locked on the lips. Good job catching that.

Ok... I worked the image a bit more. I added a film effect to it to simulate some ISO100 T-Max... and I sharpened it up a little selectively. I actually think this looks a whole lot better, but since the right side is what it is, I couldn't open it up any more in cropping. I do agree with the fact that it could have used a little more there though. BTW... the B/W conversion was done using the LAB method.

camera settings??

Manual everything....

1/200 F/2.8 ISO100 Ohhh.. and the one thing that not alot of people have picked up on was that this shot was made entirely with on camera flash. ;)

I bounced it off of the wall behind me up into the area where it meets the ceiling and to my left side..

Perfectly adorable! She is such a cutie!

I actually really like the composition and her pose! Lighting is spot on and the B&W conversion is perfect! I like the edit you did above where you brought out her eyes a bit more!

Wonderful shot! Might I ask, how did you do the photo edge? I really like this, but haven't been able to re-create it.

Thanks!

Thanks All... I thought the edit would go over well... I've already printed it and have it hanging on the wall.. :P

Tom... the edging is called a sloppy border. There are actions availble to create these for you. The version I use is based on Java script and uses PSD templates.

Very nice!!! Now if I could only get my two year old daughter to look my way and smile I would be happy.

Excellent photo regardless. The sharper image is a little too sharp for the computer display, But it will look great printed...

...So, get it printed, get it framed, put it on the wall, and spend years basking in your genious. Or is that just me?
