What are people's recommendations for raw processing software? Are there any particular advantages/disadvantages of each program?

Every RAW converter has its own quirks and qualities. Some programs give you many levels of control, but may be too slow and involved. Others have simplified controls which have faster work flow but less control. I would suggest starting out with Canon's DPP since it is free. It puts out excellent images. Work with it awhile until you decide which features/controls you might need to improve and then look for a converter which has those controls. My personal favorite currently is Silkypix http://www.isl.co.jp/SILKYPIX/english/

I agree. If starting out, use DPP, then if you need more start looking around. Perfect suggestion.

I'm using Lightroom now myself (Wanted to get it before price jump.)

I still use Raw Shooter Essentials but plan on upgrading to Capture 1 Pro. A friend of mine uses it and says it's excellent.
