This photo was taken in Oxfordshire, in the grounds of Heythrop park - damn it was so nice there! I'm learning how to use Photoshop and tried to change the sky. Look at before and after! Please leave any comments! Thanks.

My wife used to live in Oxfordshire but then moved North to find and marry the man of her dreams.
She ended up with me. LOL
Anyway she says it's Blenheim Palace.
Is she right? I have never been so wouldn't have a clue.
Please say it's not or I'll never hear the last of it!

Well kato1, you can go on ahead and tell your wife that it's Heythrop park :). Actually i didn't get time to visit Blenheim palace:( - i was only there for a day and had a meeting for half of it!

Ask you wife what she thinks about Blenheim palace, because i might be over there in a few weeks, so i might consider visiting blenheim palace. I hope there are some nice photographic opportunities down there.

WOO HOO!
She'll be disapointed she was wrong but at least domestic harmony will reign.

I think you've done an OK-ish job on the sky, but to be honest it needs more. The colours in the entire photo are extremely dull and flat, and it needs more contrast and saturation. Tareq's first work-up is a bit garish, but along the right lines I would suggest.

For stewart: nice one of blenheim palace - is it a real panorama or is it just cropped like that?
btw, do you mind if you posted a larger image?

Thanks for all of your comments

It's a real panorama. 9 shots taken in portrait orientation at f=33mm. The widest I could go at f=18mm just included the central bit of the building and the two towers in the back corners (i.e. missing the two sides of the building, which lines 3 sides of the quad).

I'll sort out a larger image and post it here later.

Hi, Rikesh. Did you replace the sky, or just modify what you got? Living here in NEPA we have a lot of shots come out with sky like that. Yet HERE (http://bassball.us/screensavers/albums/userpics/_MG_9825PS2clouds.jpg) is one from a trip to Maine onto which I used a PA sky. Here's another (http://bassball.us/screensavers/albums/userpics/_MG_9894PS111806%7E0.jpg)shot from the same trip. It had not a cloud in the sky, so I used one I had from Jamaica.

You can see a large version of the Blenheim Palace image (and praise it to the skies!) here (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?p=2870145).

hi, i got an image of a nice sky and deleted the horrible highlighted, overcast sky
and just used PP to delete the old one and replace it with the new one, and then did a bit of a gradient from lighter to darker to make it a bit more realistic. I just wanted to have a go, and sort of "forgot" to change the other levels to make the image more interesting!!

Thanks
