This is from the western part of Florida, near Clearwater, on Honeymoon Island State Park. There are probably 20 pairs of nesting Ospreys and photo opportunities abound! I had an absolute blast here and actually crossed the state to return before I came home. Lots of little birds around also but they are actually more difficult to capture due to shrubs,etc.

You know, I saw and talked to several people with the BIG lenses, who said that the 400 was their favorite as far as ease of use and quality of pictures. I picked up a 300 once and it isn't light (along with heavy tripod) and can only imagine what the 600 must weigh. I think the 400 is about all I can manage (or afford!!!)

Great focus on the feathers AND the branch in front of him. Also, the background is beautiful; it is obviously a very good shot!
