It seem that everytime I take it out to use it the mode dial on my powersot s50 becomes more and more difficult to read. Soon it's going to be impossible to read at all. Has anyone found a solution to this problem. Perhaps canon can replace the dial for a small fee or offer replacement stickers to registered users?

Other S50 owner's have been putting clear nail polish over the dial's symbols so that they don't rub off...

You could have Canon replace the mode dial. They'll do it for free!
In a shipping box, pack the body of the camera along with a letter with your name, address and fax number (if you have one) as well as a decription of what you need repaired to:.
Canon Factory Service Center
1440 Chase Ave.
Elk Grove Village, IL 60007

Include a copy of your sales receipt and a copy of the warranty card and send it by a trackable means (like UPS or FedEx). Keep the tracking number from the shipper and pack the camera to their specifications.

even if you have it replaced it still might rub off. I own an S45 and I am thinking about cutting a piece of transparent lcd protector to place over the mode dial. I would also like to suggest that canon users refrain from handling the dial from the top, instead users can turn the dial using the grooves on the side.
