Hi! Everybody.
I personally give a thanks to Pekka because this web page helped me a lot.

I have one question about setting parameters on D30.
I think it is important to set correct parameters to have a good quality picture.

I am five month old D30 user. So, I am very interested to learn the camera. I used to shoot Eos 5. Therefore, setting right parameters is not familiar to me.

Please tell me the right or better setting of parameters.

I shoot my D60 with all parameters set at 0, this way all adjustments can be made in PS.

jhdham,

If you are using Pekka's wonderful LinearSharpen, then parameter settings for contrast, sharpness and saturation are not relevant as they are not applied in conversion from raw to linear TIFF. My personal recommendation is that l-tiff is what you should be using.

If you use the embedded JPG for anything other than viewing with, say, BreezeBrowser, then you might want to experiment to see which settings you prefer. As I always shoot raw with l-tiff conversion I have gone back to leaving parameters at normal setting.

If, for some reason, you must shoot JPG, then I would agree with lazoj that low is better and do post-processing in Photoshop. Unless... you _have_ to use the JPG straight out of the camera, in which case you should experiment with variations to see which you like best. You can do this without shooting loads of images, just change shoot raw and change setting during conversion.

Regards,
