Hi guys I am trying to decide between the two it appears the lens on the 850 is superior it has a wider angle, has more telephoto and has an image stabilizer. I have seen the review of the 900 ti - http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canonsd900/page10.asp

and they do a direct comparison of the shots taken with the 850 and the 900 and the 900 always kills it in terms of resolution but do I really need all that resolution and would I be better off with the image stabilization that comes with the 800 and the wider angle lens?

Thanks in advance
Karim

Sorry mate I'm not clued up on what you mean by that, is that something to do with generations of the CCD one being better than the other? what are S1, S2, S3?

I've also now seen the Panasonic lumix with 28 mm wideangle aswell with a Leica lens - Panasonic Lumix DMC - LX2

What do you guys think of this in comparison to the canon 850 is, which only has 7 megapixels over teh panasonics 10.

I won't do chapter & verse on the megapixel myth, but 10 isn't better than 7, probably worse; more noise.
